What are Wing Spoilers?
These are plates located on top surface of each wing, which can be extended upward into the airflow and spoil it. When raised while the aircraft’s on the ground at high speeds, they reduce the wings’ lift, in effect, they put more of the aircraft’s weight on the wheels. They are raised when the weight of the aircraft is on the landing gear, usually activated by a sensor. If raised in only one wing, the aid roll control causing that wing to drop, without affecting the other.
